A sunny weekend at Sunway Lagoon Theme Park

It was perfect sunny Sunday. The sky was blue with no signs of clouds and blazing sun. We stepped out at 11 am. It took us about an hour and half via cab and monorail to reach our destination. The long hour ride didn't hamper our excitement but enhanced it. The park wasn't crowded. The people had started their day like us. With loads of excitement and adrenaline rush, we began our adventure. We began with the dry rides first after carefully exploring the map given to us at the entrance. We continued with water rides during afternoon. We couldn't complete the entire list of adventure rides because of heavy downpour. I will explain my experience in each ride later but first let me start with the park description.

The park spans over 88 acres. Initially a tin mining waste land ,it has been converted into amusement park during 1992. The park is located in Sunway township next to Sunway Putra Mall. It is a half an hour drive from city mainland. It operates from 10 am to 6 pm all the days in the week.  It includes water rides , dry rides as well as wildlife park. It contain six theme parks listed below:

Filled with rides for adrenaline junkie. The rides include bungee jumping, kayaking, pedal boating, zip lining , archery, ATV and many more. The main attraction is the zip lining with longest zip line I have ever seen.	is smallest with one attraction that is the Ghostbusters Adventures.	is most happening part of the entire amusement park. There are many attraction that you wouldn't want to miss. It is also one of biggest within Sunway Lagoon. There are many water slides that could satisfy your adrenaline rushes.	is primarily for the kids. But there are few water slides like Monster 360 and Kubarango that you wouldn't want to miss.	is like any wildlife park filled mainly with different species of birds and reptiles. There are just animals like white tiger and bear. But birds are exquisite to watch even for non animal lover.	contains dry rides and fair games with major attraction like Pirate Revenge.

The main attractions are :

a) Vuvuzela - You enter in a large circular raft with four members into a water slide that leads you to funnel where you slide to 5 oscillations and then to water pool. The thrill is when you enter the funnel and oscillate from one side to other side. The downside is the long queue. You may have to spend one hour waiting for the ride. It is better if you take the ride during the last leg of your day. It is no use using the expressway because they leave one raft at the time.

b) Monsoon 360 -  This should be on the top of list of attraction. You enter the trap door and face forward with your arms and legs crossed. After three countdowns, you shoot down to the slide and within few seconds you are end of the slide. Your heart stops when you slide down the ride. For more thrill, take the purple one.

c) Pirate's Revenge - This ride is surely thrilling because of its 360 degree up and down oscillation. Unfortunately we couldn't take the ride as the ride was closed due to maintenance issue. 

d) Ghostbusters Adventure Live! -  This interactive spooky maze wasn't that spooky except for the horror clip that they play during the start of the maze and the shaking bridge with spiral view. 

e) Flying Fox-  You take zip line ride where you get sky view of the Sunway Lagoon. The only downside is the rain and the number of steps you have to climb to get to the zip line. Unfortunately we had to face the untimely wrath of the weather. 

f) Spongebob Splash Adventure -  This is for those who love green slime over their body. You could miss this if you want.

g) Waterplexx 5D -  An animated move with experience of water and 5D effect. I liked the water effect. But other than that there is nothing much here.

h) Kubarango -  This is two person ride. You enter with your partner on tube to the slide which leads you to vertical end which takes you into a reversed free fall before you splash into pool. An amazing thrill ride which shouldn't be missed at all.

i) Tale of Mount Berapi- A mythical drama that contains dance and fire acts. A good act to watch when you want to relax on the wave pool after tiring day.  The show only features during 4 pm. But I don't think it should be featured as one of attraction of the park.

j) Congo Challenge -  You slide on the mat and race down with your friends. An amazing ride that shouldn't be missed. 

Other rides that we took apart from the attraction :-

a)  Cameron Climb -   You enter the slide with your partner on the tube, sliding downwards  then zooming to vertical end and then sliding reverse downward on same slide. You witness maximum thrill when you reach the vertical end. This should have made to list of attraction.

b) African Python - You enter slide with the partner on the tube ,slide in complete darkness and splash into pool.

c) Boa Constructor and Crocodile Gully - are similar to the African Python with only difference that is it is partly open at the middle of the ride. I wonder why it is  listed as ride in nickelodeon lost lagoon when it could have been listed in water park. 

d) Jungle fury - This is a group ride. You enter the slide with four people on the circular raft. It is large slide with not much of thrill. It is more like family slide.

e) Vultures - It is a kid dry ride. You enter the ride with your partner. As the name suggests, the ride is shaped like vulture. It moves up and down.

f) Butch Cassidy Trail - A kid dry ride where you could hop in if you want. It rotates fast which gives you little thrill.

g) Colorado splash - You enter into the slide with your partner and slide downwards with speed. The thrill lies on the downward fall. This should have been listed as ride in water park rather than amusement park.

h) Grand Canyon River Rapid - A river raft ride where the waves adds the fun.

i) Lost City of Gold Scream Coaster - Only roller coaster ride in the park. If you have ridden scariest roller coaster rides in the world, this may not give you that fun. You do get few thrills when it takes steep turns and few steep falls. Apart from that, there is no much fun.

j) Apache Pots - It is more like tea cup ride. It is perfect for kids and family.

Apart from these rides, there are few fair games like balloon and dart. There was one ride called Tomahawk which was under maintenance that we couldn't take. Overall, Sunway Lagoon is good theme park to spend your weekend fruitfully with family.
